Wellson & Khuyen | Engagements | Glen Echo, MD

It’s hard to imagine somewhere in Maryland this park existed in full swing at one point. There was a beach, a pool, lots of rides and even a movie theater according to the old signs that talk about the history of the park. All the photos are taken with old style film cameras in this park. What remains are remnants of a place that once was a bustling park turn into a dance studio and pottery school for students. It’s the perfect location for a wedding or engagement as it has all the elements you would want. I met up with Khuyen and Wellson to spend a nice spring afternoon exploring the park and taking some photos. I wanted to try to capture that old style of love back in the day when everything just seemed more innocent:)Khuyen and Wellson were even dressed the parts. I loved their outfits, particular the bowtie Wellson wore during the shoot. Here’s a preview of a few photos we captured in this old style romantic story at Glen Echo Park.

Cherry Blossoms | Travel | Washington DC

So it’s cherry blossom time in the nations capital and a few friends and I braved the traffic and crowds to take a look at this magical phenomenon that occurs each year in DC. When I say crowd I mean a crowd like a Justin Beiber concert crowd, the place was packed with people taking random photos of I’m not 100% sure of what =P Anyway, nothing could beat the beautiful weather and overflow of cherry blossoms hitting us left and right. It truly means that spring has arrived, my only question now is where did winter go? I was waiting for snow all winter and it didn’t happen….I blame global warming >_<

Enjoy~

Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial | Travel | Washington D.C.

February is the official month that the United States celebrates and honors the achievements by black Americans throughout history. I’ve notice that when you work all holidays and celebrations tend to revolve around if we get the day off or not =P I admit that I tend to fall into that category but while watching TV earlier today a commercial celebrating the black history month reminded me that some holidays have very important value to society as a whole. So that event led me to go down to the new Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in Washington D.C. I spent a good amount of time there reading the events, listening to the park rangers lecture and of course taking some photos. They did a nice job sculpting the status, the attention to detail was amazing. Really enjoyed meeting people today as I was down there as lots of families are beginning to crowd into the capital for holidays. At 71 degrees F today, I honestly couldn’t complain. Beautiful day, hope everyone enjoyed it. Below are a few photos I took today.

Viola & Tony | Engagements | Vienna, VA

So right before I left for China I had the pleasure to shoot my old manager and her fiance, Tony, at the MeadowLark Park in Vienna, VA. I was so happy to see her again after all these years. As we walked through the park you could see how in love these two are. It’s such a joy to be able to witness this first hand as we strolled through the park and took some fun engagement photos. Such a cool couple to explore the park on a hot, sunny fall day. Below are a few teasers from our shoot. Enjoy~

Urban Exploration | Travel | Jingzhou, China

So I just returned from my trip back to Jingzhou, China which is in the Hubei province in the south. This is an extremely old city (over 2000+ years old) and has a ton of historical architecture, communities, and also a modern sector. It’s really interesting to see how the city has progressed, but what’s more intriguing to me are the old parts of the city that are falling apart but still have people living there. Some of these sectors have been here for over 1000 years and remain untouched (i.e. no improvements, new developments, repairs). Below is a short teaser on a series that will continue as I filter through my photos that I took. I am still amazed that I was walking through these neighborhoods.
